Glulam roof installation is underway at our Indoor Golf Centre project in South London, with the help of Glulam Timber Engineering
Featuring an impressive Glulam roof structure, the installation consists of more than 230 individual components.
At the heart of the structure are five 13.4m-long, 240 x 400mm support Glulam beams, hand-machined to accommodate concealed hangers.
These connect to 580 linear metres of 80 x 280mm rafters, installed at varying levels to create the distinctive curve of the roof.
It’s a great example of what can be achieved with Glulam. With its high strength-to-weight ratio, ability to span significant distances and flexibility to create complex forms, Glulam gives architects and engineers greater design freedom while retaining the natural character of timber.
