Open Panel Timber Frame

Open Panel systems consist of structural timber studs sheathed with OSB and protected with a breathable membrane. Insulation, vapour control layers and internal finishes are typically installed once the frame has been erected on-site.

Benefits include

  • Greater flexibility during the build process
  • Allows easy coordination of follow-on trades on-site
  • Adaptable to allow the integration of commercial M&E systems

Closed Panel Timber Frame

Closed panel systems are manufactured in our factory-controlled environment, with insulation, vapour control layers and service battens installed prior to delivery. Panels arrive on-site ready for rapid installation, helping to accelerate the build programme.

Benefits include:

  • Faster on-site installation and improved programme certainty
  • Improved quality control through off-site manufacturing
  • Excellent thermal performance, with low U-values typically 0.18-0.12W/m2k
  • Reduced on-site labour and improved health & safety
  • Supports Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and higher PMV targets
